Spoon Carving with David Hunter
This full day course allows you to take a log and turn it into a spoon you’ll be able to use in the kitchen forever. We teach you how to safely and effectively use axes and different knives to shape your spoon, giving you the perfect introduction into making spoons for yourself at home.
Skills you will learn: Safe and effective use of a carving axe; carving knife and hook knife; an understanding of what green wood work is and why we make spoons from fresh wood; an understanding of the properties of wood and how they effect your spoon carving.
David Hunter is a full time coppice and green woodworker who had been carving spoons for over 10 years.

​Tea and Coffee will be provided but please bring your own lunch.

Herbal Foraging with
​Willow Murton 
​A​​ third seasonal journey into the hedgerows and waysides to identify medicinal plants and making your own seasonal herbal remedies.
Autumn - as we prepare for the winter, we get ourselves ready for the darker months by supporting our immune system. This workshop is all about the roots and berries, the real autumn harvests. We will learn all about the medicine that they offer and how to harness their gifts for the winter months.

Night Photography: Autumn Astro Adventure with Dafydd Wyn Morgan
Intermediate course photographing the autumn night sky at Strata Florida. Capture the night sky just as the trees lose their leaves and the Northern Hemisphere’s night sky goes into winter mode.

Saturday 3rd October

The Literature of Strata Florida with Dafydd Johnston and Eurig Salisbury
This course will be run through the medium of Welsh and will look at some of the literature connected to Strata Florida from the medieval period to more modern times. 

​Tea and Coffee will be provided but please bring your own lunch.

Printing with Packaging with Marian Haf
Led by local artist Marian Haf, this course will teach you how to create attractive and playful designs out of everyday household packaging.
