Friday 21 & Saturday 22 February
7-10pm Night photography: An introduction With Dafydd Wyn Morgan Two evenings of instruction by Dafydd Wyn Morgan, and the chance to take your own photographs of the night sky against the iconic landscape of Strata Florida.
Set in the Cambrian Mountains, renowned for its low light pollution, Strata Florida has astounding dark skies. It’s on the Cambrian Mountains Astro Trail and is less than a mile from a Dark Sky Discovery Site. “I've learnt so much in only a couple of evenings from Dafydd, who is so willing to share his experiences, mistakes and successes, and to share his enthusiasm, which is contagious." £60 for two nights Click here to download the brochure |

Printing with Packaging with Marian Haf This workshop, led by local artist Marian Haf, will be a relaxed introduction to relief and intaglio printmaking using household packaging. All materials and equipment will be provided, but feel free to bring along any images for inspiration, or be inspired on the day by the landscape , objects and wildlife of Strata Florida!

Friday 28 February & Saturday 1 March 7-10pm Night Photography: Photographing the Winter Circle/Hexagon With Dafydd Wyn Morgan Two evenings of photographing the winter night sky including views of the Winter Circle/Hexagon made up of some of the brightest stars in the Northern Hemisphere this time of year. Try and capture the Orion Constellation travelling above the Abbey or the Pilgrim.

**NOW FULLY BOOKED** Wednesday 19th March,10am-4pm Mining in Ceredigion Talks and a Walk The second in our Mining in Ceredigion events, in partnership with Natural Resources Wales and the Mining Remediation Authority, will include a day of talks by members of the Metal Mines Programme, David Sables and Ioan Lord, focussing on the Abbey Consols mine and other mines in the surrounding area. There will also be an update on the remedial work that is being done to address the legacy of pollution from the metal mining industry in Ceredigion and a guided walk up to the Abbey Consols mine itself.

11pm-2am Night photography: Photographing the Vertical Milky Way With Dafydd Wyn Morgan Another couple of late nights as you get the opportunity to photograph a vertical Milky Way in and around Strata Florida. Tuesday 12th August
9.30-11.30pm Night Photography: Shooting the Perseids Meteor Shower in the company of the Pilgrim With Dafydd Wyn Morgan With the landowner’s permission we’ll spend most of this ‘one night only’ session waiting patiently then photographing the Perseids Meteor Shower above the community inspired wood/metal statue.

Strata Florida Walking Festival Our second annual walking festival will be held over two full days on 20th and 21st September, culminating in our yearly guided walk up to the Pilgrim on the Sunday afternoon.

Barddoniaeth Dafydd ap Gwilym with Dafydd Johnston and Eurig Salisbury This workshop will be in Welsh and will explore the poetry of Dafydd ap Gwilym, one of the most famous Welsh poets of the middle ages.

Saturday 25th October 7.30-10.30pm Night Photography: Autumn Astro Adventure with Dafydd Wyn Morgan Go astro this autumn and photograph the autumn night sky at Strata Florida. Capture the night sky just as the trees lose their leaves and the Northern Hemisphere’s night sky goes into winter mode. Maybe try your first star trail.
Open to all from beginners to experts, this session explores photographing the night sky whilst incorporating nature.
