We run a variety of courses and events at Strata Florida, please see a list of upcoming events below.

We have more courses on the way for 2024, we are just in the process of confirming dates. Future courses will cover topics such as "Spring Foraging", "Strata Florida and the Cistercians", "Strata Florida and Poetry" and our popular course "Printing with Packaging with Marian Haf" will make a return also.

6th December - Strata Florida Christmas Carols by Candlelight
Come and join us for Christmas Carols and festive favourite's with Choirs For Good Aberystwyth & Llanidloes.
We will be starting at 7pm in the beautiful St Mary's Church and singing together around the Abbey ruins, finishing the evening in the Beudy for mince pies and warm mulled wine.
A winter event not to be missed, promising to be a magical evening, just remember your coat and gloves.

Join us for out monthly coffee morning and chat we hold on the last Monday of every month!

You'll find refreshments, freshly baked cakes and our friendly staff and volunteers to have a chat with. Opportunities to find out more about the trust, what we do and the latest going on. Meet new people, chat about local history, learn what it's like to volunteer or swap recipes, we don't mind - we'll talk about anything!

Set in the Cambrian Mountains, renowned for its low light pollution, Strata Florida has astounding dark skies. It is on the Cambrian Mountains Astro Trail and is less than a mile from a Dark Skies Discovery Site. Join us over two evenings in February. Two evenings of instruction by Dafydd Wyn Morgan, and the chance to take your own photographs of the night sky against the iconic landscape of Strata Florida.

7th March - Maintaining historic buildings with Nathan Goss
This 1 day course will guide you through the principles of maintaining historic buildings, and give you expert advice on how to tackle key issues such as damp, whilst discussing practical examples using our beautiful grade II and II* listed buildings.
